Greg Heckman is president and chief executive officer of The Gavilon Group, LLC. Prior to launching Gavilon in June 2008, Heckman spent 24 years with ConAgra Foods, Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility and profit and loss impact. Most recently, he was chief operating officer of Commercial Products and president of ConAgra Trade Group. His previous experience includes senior management positions leading ConAgra Food Ingredients, ConAgra Agricultural Products, ConAgra Trade Group, ConAgra Commodity Services and ConAgra Feed Ingredient Merchandising. Heckman’s extensive background in the commodity industry includes risk management, distribution and merchandising, sales and marketing, organizational turnaround, mergers and integration, and start-up operation expertise.
Heckman also serves on the Board of Trustees for Brownell-Talbot, a college preparatory school in Omaha. Heckman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture economics and marketing from theUniversityofIllinoisat Urbana-Champaign.
