Jorge Alegría is chief executive officer of the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer) in Mexico City, Mexico. Alegría serves as member of the Board of Directors of theInternational Options Markets Association (IOMA) and is also a professor at the Mexican Autonomous Technological Institute (ITAM).
Alegría has 24 years experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining the Mexican Derivatives Exchange, Alegría was the chief executive officer and managing director of ABN Amro Securities Mexico and also the executive vice president of Scotiabank Inverlat. He has also served as Member of the Board and performed different positions related to the financial markets at Mexican corporations such as: The Mexican Brokers Association (AMIB), Asigna and the Mexican Stock Exchange.
